Guide to Keeping Your Truck Cab Clean

Guide to Keeping Your Truck Cab Clean

You have a limited amount of space, and it can easily get messy fast. Keeping your truck cab clean can help to establish your status as a solid, professional driver.

As a trucker, you spend a significant amount of time in your truck. You have a limited amount of space, and it can easily get messy fast. Keeping your truck cab clean can help to establish your status as a solid, professional driver. A well-maintained truck can also have a higher resale value. So how do you keep your truck cab clean? Follow these tips!

Clear Out the Trash

For starters, you need to get the trash and clutter out of your truck cab. Pick up larger crumbs, food wrappers, soda cans and bottles, and other things that you won’t be able to vacuum. If there are other little things that aren’t really trash, grab a small basket to organize them. Get a small trashcan that you can throw stuff in and empty it whenever you stop to stretch or refuel.

Vacuum and Wipe things down

It is also important to keep your truck cab vacuumed out regularly. Use the different attachments to get to all of the nooks and crannies and hard to reach places. Take out your floor mats and shake out what you can, and vacuum them. Vacuum floors, seats, in between seats, under the pedals, and anywhere you see crumbs, dust, or dirt. Once your truck cab is vacuumed, use a disinfectant cleaner and cloth to wipe everything down. Use window cleaner on the inside of your windshield and on your rearview mirror.

New Air Filters

Unless you have a maintenance center that will automatically replace your truck’s cabin air filters whenever is needed, you will need to learn to do it. Every truck is different, so refer to your truck’s manual for air filter replacement instructions. If your air filter isn’t replaced regularly, it can cause your truck cab to smell stale, musty, and unpleasant, and no one wants to spend hours on the road in that kind of environment.
